The Problem
Most plants find out about an electrical problem when a line stops. The breaker that finally opened had been running warm for eight months. The drive that failed had been fed a 3.1 percent voltage imbalance since the last expansion. The transformer that let go had been running at 118 percent of nameplate through two summers.
None of that is invisible. All of it is measurable while the plant is still running. What is usually missing is not capability or budget — it is that nobody owns the electrical system as a whole. Maintenance owns the machines. The contractor owns the last job they were called for. The one-line on the wall is from 2009.
The result is a system that is maintained reactively, in pieces, by whoever is on site the day it breaks.
What Premier Does

Assess
Establish the baseline. What is installed, how it is fed, where it sits, and what it costs you when it stops.
Monitor
Inspect and test critical assets on an interval driven by criticality, load and environment — not by the calendar alone.
Analyze
Interpret thermal and electrical data in the context of load at the time of measurement, equipment history and recognised criteria.
Prioritize
Sort findings into what stops the plant, what damages equipment, and what can wait for the next outage window.
Correct
Turn each finding into a scoped work item and coordinate it with appropriately licensed electrical contractors.
Verify
Re-inspect under comparable load after the work. Findings close on evidence, not on a work order status.
Track
Maintain the equipment record over years, so degradation shows as a trend rather than as a surprise.
Why recurring
A single infrared survey tells you what is hot today. It cannot tell you what is getting hotter. The value of a reliability program is in the second and third pass, when a connection that read 12 °C over ambient last year reads 34 °C this year at the same load — that delta is the finding, and you only have it if somebody kept the first record.

Premier’s role in a reliability program is engineering, inspection, diagnostic testing, analysis and documentation. When a finding needs physical work — a connection retorqued, a breaker replaced, a feeder reterminated — Premier can coordinate recommended corrective work with appropriately licensed electrical contractors, whether that is your existing contractor or one we help you source.
That separation is deliberate, and it works in your favour. The party identifying the problem has no financial interest in the size of the repair. When we tell you a finding is a priority, that is an engineering judgement, not a quote.
